Traffic in New Delhi
Traffic in Delhi is no different then any other third world city but there are still a lot of fundamental flaws in Delhi road network. I have travelled a lot and seen a lot of third world countries as well and when I compare them with Delhi the situation becomes very clear and the lack of planning shows up very clearly. When the normal traffic in small towns in UK travels at 40 miles an hour which is normally the speed limit in residential areas Our Delhi ring road struggles to touch that limit. If you can touch the speed of 80km/hour on the ring road you will be luck and even if you get lucky by touching the 80 mark you wont be luck for too long coz its just not normal you will have to break for some rikshaw wala or some cow in the middle of the road.
I hate to say this but the millions Delhi government has spent on making flyovers in Delhi if they spend a fraction of that in educating people on how to drive could solve half the problem.People need to be taught not to use mobile phones while driving aswell.
Lanes? What are they ? Driving in the middle of a two lane road is the norm and you will hardly find any good marked roads and even if you o they don’t mean anything to people who drive on them.
For gods sake lanes are for being in them and that white patches you see in the middle of the road is to separate two lanes and not for you to drive right on that line you idiots.
As Cars in India are increasing day by day the infrastructure is not being able to cope up with the increase in traffic.
Any more inputs would be much appreciated and if you can try and educate people about lanes at least.

Hi..
Hope you keeping well, first of all thanks for visiting my blog and sharing your valuable views. Well about traffic in Delhi, I am 200% agree with you, It shit, IT dangerous. Drivers are not bothered to give indicators, not even have manner to give pass for pedestrians, always busy on Mobile phone or playing loud music. You right government should spend at least 1 % of the whole of budget Delhi to educate these educated illiterate people.
