Work from home scams

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

I have seen so many websites which claim to sell you legitimate work from home kits which are supposed to have contact details, I have never bought any of those but a few people I know have tried them and they say that it was a total rip off with no useful information in it. I would advise everyone not to fall for these work from home kits. There are no jobs on this earth which would ask you to buy something before giving you work to do.

There is a constant buzz about the visits of the Extra Terrestrial Beings from the space to the earth. There are people who report that the aliens visited their houses and took them to their space ships and then performed some sort of experiments on them. There is a very large number of people all over the world to have seen them. There are also people who say that they have seen some strange types of lights in the skies and some have even photographs to show.

Well as mentioned its Independence Day today, and seems like there will be some hope of electricity and that too all day. Just as January 26th, today is also an important day, therefore it means no electricity cuts. So lets hope this though remains true and everyone enjoys the day today and fly lots of kites in the air.

Life in India

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Standard of living in India is getting better and better by the day, with people getting jobs and getting cars they are helping themselves get a better life. This means that people are getting the money to purchase luxuries, which initially leads to products getting a higher price. Higher the pays, higher the demand the more it will cost.

Ice age

Monday, August 13th, 2007

There are many views regarding the causes and the effects of the global warming. One view suggests that there will be excessive evaporation from the seas and consequently more precipitation. There will be very high levels of the snowfall in the colder regions decreasing the temperature to very low levels. The intense cold wave will then slowly engulf the large parts of the land and an ice age will slowly follow.

The religious people

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

I come across a lot of people who sit for hours together in prayer. There are some of them who once prayed start thinking that they are having a direct link with God, and think about others to be just the ordinary humans and treat themselves to be more privileged and gifted and start ignoring others. This type of an attitude is advocated nowhere in any religion and any religious thought or prayer.

Electricity in India

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

I am a UK born citizen and I’ve come to India many times at least every two years and have stayed in rural villages where the electricity goes off a lot during the day (about 70% of the time). I am now visiting Delhi and staying here and it doesn’t go off as much about 3-4 times a day for maybe a maximum time of 1 hour, as long as I have been here otherwise it may be gone for longer. Even if it would go off for longer I suppose I would be able to cope as I am used to having electricity being turned off for longer periods due to the time I spent in the villages.

I arrived in India on the 31st October 2006 and been in New Delhi and Punjab and I have the say electricity supply has improved a lot. Many homes now have inverters and generators so electricity is available 24 hours without any problems. As soon as the electricity goes off the inverter starts, the only problem with the inverter is that only a few electric items work, the inverter can only supply enough electricity for a few things such a light bulbs charging a phone, the TV and fridge will remain off as these require a large quantity of electricity. Although you won’t have the use of the necessities like TV, DVD you will still have light in the house which is better than no electricity.
Having a generator will be the best option if you don’t want any electricity problems as with this when the electric goes off you can start the generator and all electric appliances will be available, but with this there is only one problem the noise, if you can bear this then its ok but if you cant your best off at a place which has an inverter.

When it comes to having no electricity there is only one reason the supply is short. I have gone out during the day in New Delhi and seen street lights are on all day long no wonder why there is no electricity available during the day. If electricity is turned off from the right places in public places then there will be much more supply to residents.

Real estate graph heading North

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

In the SBD, rentals have witnessed a considerable increase of about 15-20% q-o-q and 50-70% y-o-y and is close to Rs 250 per square feet per month. In case of the satellite towns of Noida and Gurgaon—at about Rs 40-50 per square feet per month and Rs 100 per square feet per month, respectively—rentals have remained stable q-o-q and have increased by 30-40% y-o-y. Going forward, there could also be correction in certain NCR markets. For instance, in case of Noida the total commercial supply estimated in 2007 is about 5.6 million square feet. According to a report by real estate consultancy DTZ, “this is far in excess to the projected absorption of 3.3 million square feet and, hence rentals should fall or, at best, remain stable.”

Ngo’s in favour of rikshaws

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

The NGO questioned that can the High Court take upon itself the task of technical experts and take decisions with respect to regulation of traffic? The High Court, while prohibiting the plying of cycle rickshaws on the arterial roads of Delhi, had said that such roads were the main link roads and were meant for carrying vehicles. It had said if cycle rickshaws were allowed on arterial roads it would not only affect the smooth flow of traffic but will create congestion for the commuters which not only entraps people in long traffic jam and results in lots of delay but also leads to wastage of fuel.

SC notice to Centre, Delhi Govt on cycle rickshaws ban

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

The Supreme Court on Wednesday, issued notices to the Centre and Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi on a petition challenging the Delhi High Court decision prohibiting the plying of cycle rickshaws in large part of the city, including Chandni Chowk. An NGO, Initiative for Transportation and Development Programmes, working in the field of sustainable transport, has challenged the High Court order contending that it was delivered without giving an opportunity to the representatives of rickshaw pullers or technical experts.
