Parents who thought that instant messaging and SMing were destroying the language skills of their wards should relax. The first of its kind study conducted at University of Toronto reveal that IM represented ‘expansive new linguistic renaissances” Accordingly to their vocabulary and grammar remains conservative. Conclusions were drawn after analyzing millions words of IM communication and spoken words. Though IM language has effects on children’s communications skill but it does not ruin their lingustistic skills. They should communicate and get messages in the language they commonly use. However there style changes because mostly short words or abbreviations are used in these messages. But it is felt that online shorthand is not detrimental. Using words, like OMG {Oh my God) or TTLY (Talk to you later) or LOL (Laugh out loud) while SMSing clearly indicates the children’s ability to adjust to the need of the medium t enable them to interact with the community they are in.

Hey guys relax, tension is not what will help your during exams. Do not stress yourself with study and get lost in the books. This way nothing will go inside your head. Instead study for around 6 to 7 hours a day only. Get up and have fun. Go out and play or watch television for some time .because if you study continuously for long hours then you will strain yourself and what ever you try to remember will refuse to register. It is important that you for at least 8 hours as both your body and mind need rest. Whenever you study make sure you are not disturbed so that no one breaks your concentration.

The Girls in DU are not feeling very safe. Incidences of professors and co-male students molesting and disrespecting them have become very common. Thought security arrangements are made at DU to check this harassment but the girls think that it is not enough. They say that the harassment is increasing day by day which clearly means that there are no checks. The authorities have to take stronger action against it and if required should also place some private guards in the campus. Corruption and manipulation plays its games everywhere. But then how will these girls be secure? Who will protect them? Is it that these girls will have to take the system in their hands and look out for means and measure to protect them? Even in girl’s hostel girls are not too safe. Boys get in to the girl’s hostel even when the security guards are at duty. Though the cases of harassments have declined but it is not enough, we need more security and assurance of self respect.

The management institutes have gone ahead and raised their fees but this may have an adverse effect on the people who aspire to be a part of these institutes. The students who want to go in for these institutes will think twice now as getting loans for such amounts will be difficult and also at times not affordable. This will lead to a drop in the number of applicants in these management institutes. Some advice that even if the management institutes are not ready to cut down on their fee they can charge the fee after a student gets placed. This way it will be easier for the student to pay up.

Another debate that is firing up is if Delhi University should have a grading system or no. Some say that it will be good to have a grading system and the pressure on the student will be lesser. The admission process will also become simpler as many students miss out on good colleges because of few percentages. And of course there will be no re-evaluation of papers. While there are few who think otherwise. According to them grading will create confusion as one will not be able to make out who is better than whom. Plus its implementation has to be done carefully as to how the students will be graded.

The debate has been going for a long time if cameras should be installed in classrooms. The teachers have their own view points the students have their own. While the teachers feel that there should be cameras installed in the classrooms as it will help the students to concentrate and pay attention to what the teacher is out there to discuss and teach. Teachers also feel that cameras in the classroom will make the students conscious of the fact of the cameras existence and will not involve into chatting or distracting the classroom. The students will also think twice before distracting the other students who are trying to concentrate on the lecture. The back benchers who sleep most of the time will be conscious as well. But students have a different view point altogether they feel that that a good teacher-student relationship depends comfort and trust. They feel that the comfort in interactions will be lost. Moreover they feel that it will make matters worse as it will not only be impossible to sit in the class, but also concentrate as every time, everybody will be thinking about cameras.

This has always been a topic of discussion and debate. But has be thought about and ignored and avoided at the same time. The question is whether to introduce a feedback system or program in the DU to help improve the courses or not? If you ask me it would be a good step as it will help the authorities to know what actually happens during the entire session. It will be a kind of test for the teachers who do not take this profession seriously. A feedback program is badly needed not only for DU but for all the universities. It will also help the teachers to keep a check on the students. It will help a long way in improving the standards of education and universities. Teachers will be more serious and will work towards better performance by the students. At the same time the teaching skills will improve as well. And tomorrow may be we can come to the level where there would be more practicality attached to what we study or can practically apply what we learn.

This is for all the students of schools and universities. Please take a chill pill and do not let the stress of exams eat you up or kill you. Please hold on to your nerves. Study for maximum 7 to 8 hours a day. Have your share of fun and do not get trapped in the tense atmosphere. Play a lot of outdoor games and see TV. Ensure that you do not study continuously for long hours .Sleep for at least 8 hors a day to recharge your batteries. Make a time table that would divide your time between study and stress busters. When you are studying do not let anyone disturb you and concentrate to the maximum. This is not the time to panic just keep revising what you already know and try not to touch new topics. Go out for long walks. Little stress is actually required and is essential but do not let it take over. This is, when you are getting prepared to be future executives. You are learning and implementing time management and self management skills. You are learning to cope up with stress, anxiety, tension and fight the world tomorrow.

Good education is the best means of education makes us enlightened. It gives grace to our character. Food, cloth and shelter are basic need of life but now a day’s education is also a basic need of today. Education guides the person to take right decision. But; our country is still backward regarding education. Literacy rate is very low in our country. Some classes of people are highly educated whereas little class of people is very illiterate. Poor people are still because they are unable to afford expensive education. This is one of the reasons for non-development of our country. Government is doing lots of work for spreading education in each corner. Schools have been opened in the villages to provide free education. Education is the best means to achieve success. It makes us conscious of our duties. It sows the seeds of nobility in us. If the government and public both will join hands to bring up the education, it will definitely add up one star to our nation.
