Time

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

The first step in making more productive use of your time understands how you currently use it. It can be difficult to judge how much time you really spend on different tasks. There are many distractions on your computer that can take time away from productive work. How much time do you spend responding to email, or just surfing the Web, and how much do you spend on your important projects? A few minutes here and there adds up over a day or a week. One software package called TimeSprite records the title of the active window on your computer. You can then view a report of how much time you spent on different activities. Similar titles are automatically grouped together to provide a summary of your time. You can also define your own groups to refine the report. You can see the total time you spent on different activities, or view the time as a journal or daily or weekly timesheets.

Motor Fuel

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

Motor fuel is viewed by most people today as an absolute modern necessity. Without it, transport seems paralyzed, and without transport, industry cannot function. Certainly, under present conditions, cities cannot be fed and rural industries cannot be maintained without the use of motor vehicles and one does not need to be an alarmist in order to visualize a variety of circumstances which could drastically constrict the supply of oil from overseas. But the fossil liquid fuels are increasingly becoming expensive. Because of economic and national security reasons many nations may well decide that they simply must find substitutes for fossil liquid fuels. One alternate fuel is wood gas which is full of Hydrogen, Methane and other Flammable Gases Almost Any Gasoline Engine Can Run on Wood Gas !!

Accidents in Sports

Friday, January 18th, 2008

The risk of accidents in sports can be reduced with the help of the latest technology. In the year 2007, there were more than 70,000 accidents on Swiss ski slopes, many resulting in serious injuries and deaths. Switzerland is introducing speed cameras on the slopes to try to reduce the increasing number of accidents. The first such nationwide controls will treat skiers like cars on the motorway. Speeders will be caught with hand-held radar devices carried by hidden personnel. Persistent offenders could be fined or have ski passes confiscated. The scheme is being introduced after figures revealed a drastic increase in serious ski-related accidents in Switzerland. The booming winter tourism trade has led to overcrowding at the most popular resorts and a sharp rise in accidents. Impeccable pistes and new skiing equipment also encourages skiers and snowboarders of all levels to go ever faster.

Diseases in Families

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

It has been believed for a long time that diseases run in families, with perhaps half the risk of any given common disease explained by genetic differences inherited from one’s parents. Inheritance also can play a role in different responses to a drug or to an environmental factor. Because the underlying causes of these common diseases and therapeutic responses remain largely unknown and because knowing this information is necessary for successful development of new approaches to prevention, diagnosis and treatment identifying the genetic contributors to human health is a fundamental goal of biomedicine. A new genomics-based approach to human genetics was proposed nearly a decade ago to catalog common human DNA sequence variations comprehensively and to test them systematically for their association to disease in human populations.

Gifts from Family and Friends

Monday, January 7th, 2008

In our entire lifetime, most of us either receive a gift or give at least one re-gift. The question before us is whether the re-gifting should be avoided or should be carried out as usual. Many times the original giver of the gift may feel badly once you re-gift the item to someone else. In the situation where the sentiments of the original giver are attached, you should re-think before re-giving the gift. You should consider the feelings of not only the person who gave you the gift, but your feelings as well. It’s possible you may feel badly after you re-gift an item given to you by a close member of the family or friend. You may feel awkward in these situations where the sentiments of family members are attached and you should give re-gifting serious thought or avoid it altogether.

The timings have been set, which means it is much easier for people to organize their work and do their job properly, rather than thinking all the time when there will be another power cut.
